The plant

A 3,000 litre line that runs itself

Our syrup is made in a 3,000 litre fully automatic plant. Mixing, heating and transfer are all handled by the machine — pneumatic system, load cells for weighing, automatic transfer from the vessel straight to the filling line.

What that means for you is simple. Nobody carries syrup in a bucket. The batch is weighed by the machine, not by a man with a measuring jug, so batch two pours and tastes exactly like batch one. And because it is a closed system, there is far less chance of anything getting into the product between mixing and bottling.

The filling line

One line, start to finish

Everything from an empty bottle to a sealed, labelled pack happens on one automatic NPM Machinery line inside the WHO-GMP block.

Capacity across the block is 30 million bottles a year, so an order of 5,000 does not sit in a queue behind somebody else’s. A Certificate of Analysis comes with every batch.

Before anything is made

We test the base liquids ourselves

You will have seen the news about children dying after taking cough syrup made in India. That happened because of a chemical called DEG that had got into the glycerin — one of the base liquids every syrup is made from. You cannot see it, smell it or taste it. The only way to know is to test.

We bought a gas chromatograph from Agilent for exactly this job. Every batch of glycerin, propylene glycol and sorbitol that comes into this plant is tested here, in our own lab, before it goes anywhere near your product.

Most third party manufacturers send this testing outside, or take the supplier’s certificate at face value. We do not. It costs us a little more per batch — and it is the reason we can quote you a competitive rate without you having to wonder what has been left out.

What we make

Three formats

Syrup

The standard sweet liquid, sugar or sugar-free.

Suspension

For medicine that does not dissolve. The bottle is shaken before use, and it is made so the medicine spreads evenly through the liquid instead of settling hard at the bottom.

Drops

Small concentrated bottles for babies and for elderly patients who cannot swallow a tablet. Supplied with a dropper.

Questions

What buyers ask us first

What is your minimum order?

5,000 pieces per product. That applies across pack sizes from 5ml to 200ml.

How do I get your rate list?

Send us the products you need with pack size and quantity, and we will reply with rates. If you are comparing quotes, tell us what you are being offered elsewhere and we will tell you honestly whether we can beat it.

Can I give you my own formula?

Yes. Or choose from the products we already make, which is usually faster and cheaper because the batch is already established.

What documents do I get with the batch?

A Certificate of Analysis with every batch.
