Respiratory, Cold and Cough Range: Third Party Manufacturing

61 cough, cold, allergy, asthma and bronchodilator products, manufactured as syrups, drops, suspensions, tablets and capsules under your brand at our WHO-GMP plant in Panchkula.

HomeProductsRespiratory, cold and cough range

Respiratory medicines are a 19,000 crore rupee therapy in India, and the cough, cold and allergy products in it sell most between October and February, when the season and the air quality turn. Our catalogue carries 61 products in this range: 44 cough, cold and allergy products and 17 asthma and bronchodilator products, made in the oral liquid, tablet and capsule sections at Panchkula, with the syrups and drops filled on the plant’s own liquid line.

  • Why this range. The market figures, the season and the 2025 syrup crisis that make the manufacturer behind a cough syrup the buyer’s first question.
  • Why this plant for it. 61 products already on the licence, 26 packs manufactured for clients, a liquid section with 30 million bottles a year of capacity and a laboratory that tests for diethylene glycol at raw material, bulk and finished product stage.
  • The full catalogue. Every product with composition, form and pack sizes.

Why manufacture the range at this plant

What a marketing company gets from Vibcare Healthcare for a respiratory, cold and cough range

The molecules are already on the licence
All 61 products in the catalogue, including bilastine, montelukast with fexofenadine, doxofylline with montelukast and acebrophylline with acetylcysteine, are on the plant’s manufacturing licence. There is no wait for a state endorsement before the first batch.
Diethylene glycol tested at three stages, in-house
Glycerine, propylene glycol and sorbitol are the solvents in which diethylene glycol contamination has occurred. The plant tests for diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol on its own Agilent gas chromatograph at three stages: every container of solvent before it is released to production, the bulk syrup before filling, and the finished product before release. The results are on record for every batch.
A liquid section built for this range
Syrups, suspensions, drops and solutions are manufactured and filled in the oral liquid section, with a capacity of 30 million bottles a year, in 60 ml, 100 ml and 15 ml packs with measuring cups and droppers. See oral liquid manufacturing.
Proof in the packs
26 products in this range have been manufactured for marketing companies under their own brands, with our name as manufacturer on each pack.
A plant certified in 2024
WHO-GMP certified on 24 October 2024 and GMP certified under Revised Schedule M on 14 November 2024, with GLP-certified laboratories. Vendor audits by your quality team are by appointment; Chandigarh airport is 35 km away.
45 to 60 days, in time for the season
Dispatch takes 45 to 60 days from the day the artwork is finalised, for the first batch and for repeat orders. Artwork finalised in August puts the range in your depots by October.

What a respiratory, cold and cough range demands from a plant, and what we do

The technical points of this range and how the plant handles them

Solvent testing at raw material, bulk and finished product
Diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol are the contaminants that have killed children in cough syrups. The plant tests for both in-house on its Agilent gas chromatograph: every container of glycerine, propylene glycol and sorbitol before use, the bulk syrup before filling, and the finished product before release. No container is released to production and no batch is released for dispatch without a passing result on record.
Purified water
Syrups are made with purified water from the plant’s reverse osmosis system, stored in SS 316L and circulated continuously through the section, with water testing on a fixed schedule.
Taste, colour and dose in a paediatric syrup
Chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan and terbutaline are bitter and are given to children by the spoon. Sweeteners, flavours and colours are chosen with the client and the dose is checked by assay on every batch, so that 5 ml delivers the label claim.
Preservation and stability of oral liquids
Syrups and suspensions carry a preservative system and are tested for microbial limits on every batch. Stability studies run in Thermolab chambers at the plant, and the data is available to your regulatory team on request.
Bilayer and coated tablets
Montelukast with levocetirizine, doxofylline with montelukast and acebrophylline with acetylcysteine are bilayer or film-coated tablets, compressed and coated in the tablet section. See tablet manufacturing.
Packs for the season
Syrups in 60 ml and 100 ml PET, HDPE or amber glass bottles with measuring cups, drops in 15 ml bottles with droppers, and tablets in blister packs, with cartons and leaflets to your artwork and the foil printed on the plant’s own rotogravure unit.
Ceiling prices
Salbutamol, cetirizine, chlorpheniramine, montelukast and other molecules in this range are in the National List of Essential Medicines and carry NPPA ceiling prices. We print the MRP you specify; it must stay within the ceiling for those products.

Send your product list and you will receive a written proposal from the plant at Panchkula.

Rate, batch, lead time and documents

The terms every proposal states

Rate
The rate is quoted in writing, product by product, against your pack sizes and annual quantity. The plant is outside the hill-state budgetary-support scheme, so the rate you receive now is the rate after March 2027.
Minimum quantity
One batch per product. The batch size for each product is stated in the proposal.
Lead time
Dispatch takes 45 to 60 days from the day the artwork is finalised, for the first batch and for repeat orders.
Payment
An advance on the first order, and terms as mutually agreed after that.
Dispatch
To your depots in any state by road, with freight to your account.
Documents
A certificate of analysis with every batch, copies of the licences and certificates, the Site Master File for vendor qualification, stability data on request, and a quality agreement after order confirmation.

Compliance notes for this range

Prices, combinations and labelling

Fixed-dose combinations
Combinations are manufactured only where the combination is approved. The cough and cold combinations prohibited by the Ministry of Health, including the fourteen notified on 2 June 2023, are not manufactured.
Labelling
The products in this range are labelled with the generic name in the prominence required by Rule 96 and the manufacturer’s name, licence number and batch details on every pack. Chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine drops carry the statement that the combination is not to be used in children below four years, as directed by the Drugs Controller General of India in December 2023.
Release
Every batch is tested in the GLP-certified laboratory, including the diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol tests on the raw material, the bulk and the finished product, and released with a certificate of analysis that travels with the consignment.

Why respiratory, cold and cough is the range to build

The market, the season and the manufacturer question, with sources

A 19,000 crore therapy growing above the market
Respiratory medicines were worth 19,043 crore rupees in the year to January 2026, 7.9 per cent of the Indian pharmaceutical market, and grew 10.3 per cent against 8.0 per cent for the market as a whole. Source: Pharmarack Technologies, industry report for January 2026.
The season doubles the sales
Respiratory sales rose from 989 crore rupees in June 2024 to 1,638 crore rupees in November 2024, a 66 per cent rise in five months, with cough and cold products up 11.3 per cent in November alone as the monsoon, the cold and the air quality set in. A range that is on the shelf by October sells through the whole season. Source: Pharmarack figures reported in Business Standard, 12 December 2024.
Every doctor and every chemist
Cough, cold and allergy products are prescribed by general practitioners, paediatricians, physicians and chest specialists, and the syrups sell over the counter as well. A marketing company with a pain or cardiac range adds respiratory products to the same doctors and chemists without adding a single visit.
The 2025 syrup crisis made the manufacturer the first question
In October 2025, cough syrups contaminated with diethylene glycol from a manufacturer in Tamil Nadu caused the deaths of at least 24 children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan; the manufacturer’s licences were cancelled, the World Health Organization issued a product alert on 13 October 2025, and the Health Ministry advised that cough and cold medicines are not to be given to children below two years. A marketing company that sells a syrup under its own name carries the risk of its manufacturer, and buyers now ask where the syrup is made and how it is tested for diethylene glycol before they ask the rate. Sources: WHO Medical Product Alert 5/2025; Ministry of Health advisory, 4 October 2025.
The approved combinations are the range
Between 2016 and 2024 the Ministry of Health prohibited more than a hundred cough and cold combinations, including fourteen on 2 June 2023. The combinations that remain approved, terbutaline with bromhexine and guaiphenesin, levosalbutamol with ambroxol and guaiphenesin, dextromethorphan with chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine, montelukast with levocetirizine, and the single antihistamines, are what the market now runs on, and all of them are in this catalogue. Questions marketing companies ask

Answered from the plant

Which respiratory, cold and cough products can you manufacture under our brand?

All 61 products in the catalogue. If you need a composition that is not on the list, send it with the strength and pack; a product not yet on the licence needs the state authority’s endorsement before the first batch, which adds a few weeks.

How do you make sure a syrup is free of diethylene glycol?

By testing three times, in-house, on the plant’s Agilent gas chromatograph: every container of glycerine, propylene glycol and sorbitol before it is used, the bulk syrup before filling, and the finished product before release. The results support the certificate of analysis, and the test records are available to your quality team.

Can you make paediatric drops and syrups with our flavour?

Yes. Drops in 15 ml bottles with droppers and syrups in 60 ml and 100 ml bottles are made in the oral liquid section, and the flavour, colour and sweetener are settled with you before the first batch.

When should we finalise artwork for the winter season?

By August. Dispatch takes 45 to 60 days from the day the artwork is finalised, so August artwork puts the range in your depots by October, when respiratory sales begin to rise.

What is the minimum quantity for a respiratory range?

One batch per product. The batch size depends on the product and pack, and the written proposal states it against each product you ask for.

Can you match the formulation of a brand we already sell?

Send the reference product and its pack. For a product already on our licence the first batch follows the standard 45 to 60 day timeline; where the flavour system or excipients differ from ours, the formulation team assesses the change before quoting, and any product not yet on the licence needs the state endorsement first.

Do you supply the documents our regulatory team needs?

Yes. Copies of the manufacturing licence and WHO-GMP certificate, the Site Master File, a certificate of analysis with every batch, the solvent test records, and stability data on request. A quality agreement is signed after order confirmation.
